Matterport vs Zillow 3D

While both services mostly behave the same, there are some difference you should be aware of when making the choice on which 3D Tour to utilize.

The Matterport Platform can be used on any site with the exception of Zillow.com. However, because it is its own service, it does come with a hosting fee of $10/month. We cover the first month but houses with 3D Tours tend to not stay on the market that long. Matterport is a smoother experience and will provide a “Dollhouse” View.

Zillow 3D on the other hand is limited ONLY to listings on Zillow and cannot be placed elsewhere. However, there are no additional monthly fee’s to host. A feature that we really like is as we build the tour, the camera collects information to build a floor plan so the buyers can see where they’re standing and which direction they’re facing in relation to other areas of the home. Zillow 3D Tours are far more simple and user friendly.

Which one should you choose?

Ultimately, the choice is yours. Zillow is becoming the more popular place to search for homes and the lack of monthly fees is enticing. However, if you’re wanting to add a 3D Tour to multiple sites, Matterport is the way to go. If you want both, we will build both.
