What Real Estate Photography Services Should You Include in Your Listing in Omaha?

Before you get to reading, there’s one important thing to know: WE HATE UPSELLING SERVICES THAT AREN’T NEEDED. At CMFW Media, if you order only our Photography Services, that’s great. When we arrive, if we think “Wow! Drone photos will really add to this listing”, we will call you and ask if you’d like to add additional services on. On the flip side, let’s say you request a 3D Tour and the house probably own’t benefit from one, we’ll let you know and why. Our goal is to help you sell, not to Nickel and Dime.

REAL ESTATE PHOTOGRAPHY

Professional real estate photography is the core of any successful listing. High-quality images highlight the home’s layout, lighting, and key features- helping buyers quickly understand the space.

Listings with professional real estate photographs in Omaha consistently receive more views and generate stronger interest compared to listing with lower-quality images, like from a SMARTPHONE. Yes, that’s its own blog. I encourage you to check it out.

DRONE PHOTOGRAPHY

Does every house need a drone shoot? No. Let’s be real. Small houses, homes in overly crowded neighborhoods, and properties that might be in a bit of an eyesore neighborhood generally don’t need them. A drone can really change the angle that a house is shown and if we think that the property only needs a slightly higher angle, we’ll launch the drone for 1-2 shots at no additional cost. Like we said, we truly want to help you sell and get the most bang for your buck. I don't know how to insert photos into blog posts, so I made an additional page showing the different angles that can be seen by clicking right HERE.

Which houses benefit the most from aerial photography? Well, in Omaha, LARGE houses for sure. For only $95, you can really… elevate (please laugh) your listing to the next level. If the house has land attached to it, aerial photography is a must. We recommend that new construction homes also get the Birds Eye view treatment as well. Often, but not always, we do a quick Google Search on the property. If it’s next to cool features such as parks, waters, shopping centers, we will definitely recommend using our Drone Service add-on. Honestly, that is the #1 reason why we call and ask if you’d like to add this service to your listing.

VIDEO WALKTHROUGHS

Bottom line up front: We are striving to suck less at this service. Both Nicki and Charlie are photographers by nature. A still image is easy for us. Videography is new to the both of us. We won’t do them for free, but right now, our video services are wildly inexpensive compared to other services. We ask for honest feedback and if you don’t like the product, don’t pay for it. I promise, we won’t be mad.

But let’s talk about when to add this service on! Omaha has some really unique houses. We see so many ranch style houses around Plattsmouth, Tudor homes in Dundee, condos are popping up all over, and there are borderline Mansions around Happy Hollow, West Omaha, Elkhorn, and Gretna. A video really helps buyers understand the flow of the home. When the flow is understood, connection to the space is felt. When I was buying my home, there were two services I saw on the listing that had me invested into my home before I even stepped foot into it- one of them was a video.

3D TOUR

While a video of a home is great for understanding the flow of the house, a 3D tour gives buyers control of where they view and can focus on the details that they want to. By utilizing a 3D Tour, you are empowering the buyers to view the space before they step foot into it. This is especially important for buyers who may be remote or moving from out of town. The tours are interactive.

Matterport or Zillow Showcase? There is a difference. Matterport will work on all platforms with the exception of Zillow. In October of 2025, Zillow dropped the ability to embed a 3D tour on their listings. If you don’t use Zillow, Matterport is the tour for you. However, there are advantages to Zillow 3D Showcase! Zillow gives the option to import floor plans and will place the 360º images inside the floor plans with an Angle of View icon so the buyer knows exactly where they’re placed, which direction they’re looking, and where other rooms are in regard to the position of the camera. It’s quite handy.

Which houses need them? I would argue all of them, but I’m biased. The 3D tour was the other service that had me emotionally invested in my home before I even looked at it. However, we recommend houses that are properly staged or entirely cleared out. The 360º Camera captures everything. Unless you’re willing to pay our “moving fee” or accept that moving boxes may be in the tour, we wouldn’t recommend them. We actually did a Matterport (Can be seen HERE) for a home that was owned by Magician David P. Abbot in the early 1930’s. The house was complex and the 3D tour helped buyers from out of state feel it out before they purchased.

If you order a 3D Tour of a let’s say, a “cookie cutter” home, or it’s relatively not bland- we will let you know our thoughts. If you aren’t sure which 3D Tour platform to use, we’ll help you decide based on where you want it to be listed. However, if you want both Matterport and Zillow, we will absolutely make that happen, but we will bill you for two 3D tours. As for hosting the tours, we host the first month at no cost to you. After that, we charge $10/month to keep that tour up. We have yet to have a home in Omaha that used our 3D Tour Service stay up longer than a month. But, it can happen. In fact, in 2023, Charlie photographed a beautiful home that ended up being on the market for about two months. He was called back to build a 3D Tour and the house sold In under a week to an out of town buyer.

Whew, that was long winded. 3D Tours can be complicated. While this was a long section, we make them simple for our Omaha Realtors.

FLOOR PLANS

Our most affordable add-on, but the pack on so much additional value to your listing. Honestly, if you don’t have the builders plans from the city, or the home has been updated, we always recommend these. Floor plans are simple and help give buyers a rigid top down view of the layout of the house.

Here’s the kicker: we aren’t surveyors and the plans will not be surveyor accurate. However, they will help buyers start to put together where their furniture and belongings go, or allow teens to pick their rooms and start to think of their layout. If a buyer is looking at multiple homes, Floor Plans help them visualize their future in this listing compared to ones without. We USED to bill per floor, but we believe these are so important, we’ve changed the cost of them to one flat fee based on the size of the house. This has actually made them significantly less expensive.

THE PACKAGES

We offer these services in packages. If you purchase the whole package, we take 25% off and round down to the nearest $5. If we call and recommend an upgrade, we will change the invoice to reflect your excellent decision. If the package is declined and later on we are asked to come back, we won’t say “I told you so,” but we won’t discount the added on services. You’re already trusting us with your photos, trust us with our recommendations too. Prevoiusly, we had each additional service have two prices, a stand-alone and an add-on. Now, we made the stand-alone cost the base cost and they’re only discounted when added on. If you do the math like I did, ordering the whole package essentially makes the Floor Plans $0.
